Coffee roasting is a meticulously detailed process. Converting green coffee into a delicious roast takes time and precision but most importantly, it requires complete control. As with most things in this modern age, coffee roasting machines have gone on to become more automatic, more computerized in order to produce coffees at a faster pace. But coffee roasting is an art form that benefits from complete, personal control. Coffee roasters are the engines that propel any coffee shop forward. Make sure yours is built to last. The San Franciscan Roaster Company believes in the intrinsic value of handmade machines. Not only are our machines designed and built to last a lifetime, they are also incredibly beautiful. Each roastmaster should feel proud of their roaster, from how it works to how it looks. The San Franciscan Roaster Company can provide this and much more!

Get To Know Our Coffee Roasters

The act of building machines has become a worldwide collaboration. Most manufacturers source their materials from a plethora of countries in order to cut costs. But these cost-cutting measures have gone on to create a sour reputation for many manufacturers. Although internationally sourced materials might be less expensive, they aren’t always of the highest quality. Thus, the machines can falter or break down after a few uses. The San Franciscan Roaster Company is well aware of this fact.  For this reason, we solely use American-made parts throughout the fabrication of our machines. All of our machines are built by hand at our factory in Carson City, Nevada.

Handmade Roasters Far Exceed the Competition

Handmade products are much better and beneficial than mass-produced machines for a variety of reasons. One of the most tangible benefits being our ability to custom-build your coffee roaster. Unlike roasters built by machines (which are all basically carbon copies of one another), handmade roasters can be customized to suit your exact specifications. It is our goal to build your perfect roaster. Whether you know exactly what you want or you require a bit of guidance, our team of expert craftsmen will gladly guide the way.

San Franciscan Roasters Boast Expert Precision and Craftsmanship

The same level of craftsmanship and precision goes into every single one of our roasters, from the SF-1, our smallest, to our largest option, the SF-75. Since we only build our roasters by hand, you can rest easy knowing that your exact roaster will be made with love and care. Best of all, the materials and pieces we use are easily found in the United States and internationally. If anything were to befall your roaster, you won’t have to go to the ends of the earth to find a spare part. This is just one example of how beneficial our roasters are.

It’s What’s Inside that Counts

Now, the roaster can look beautiful on the outside but it’s what’s on the inside that matters the most. Roastmasters can rest easy knowing that every San Franciscan Roaster is built with maximum efficiency in mind.  The art of coffee roasting can be seen as a form of alchemy. A green bean is roasted, transmuted into a dark product that can then be enjoyed as a beverage. It’s like turning a bean into liquid gold. In order to reach that goal, the roastmaster must have as much freedom as possible to experiment. The most wonderful things are often created through experimentation. The San Franciscan Roaster Company strives to give artisan roasters the ability to experiment as freely as possible. For this reason, we specifically build our roasters with incredibly useful components that all lead to total control during the roasting process.

Meet Your Coffee Roaster

Our roasters offer variable drum rotation speed in order to provide roastmasters with the optimum degree of control. They come equipped with hot air dampers and variable speed hot-air fans.  Our roasters give roastmasters the ability to control both conductive and convective heat. More control translates to more freedom for the a roastmaster.

Not only are our roasters meticulously hand built to suit your exact needs, they’re also designed to be incredibly efficient and easy to use. All components, from motors and pipes to the cooling trays, are removable for ease of maintenance. A clean roaster is an efficient roaster.

The term “clean” has a different meaning when it comes to our larger models. The SF-25 and the SF-75 come standard with built-in afterburners. The afterburner diffuses smoke and odor from the roasting process, thus leading to a smaller environmental impact. Our roasters are truly as “clean” as the come!
